Silas Chinsen is a guitarist, vocalist, keyboardist, arranger, and choir director based in Montreal. He has an extensive musical background in classical and contemporary music, with experience performing and teaching genres such as classical, rock, pop, folk, jazz, and a capella.
Silas holds a master of music degree in guitar performance, with a minor in voice performance from the University of Ottawa under the tutelage of Patrick Roux and Dillon Parmer. He also completed his undergraduate studies at uOttawa, graduating summa cum laude.
Silas has received master classes from international guitarists such as Pepe Romero, Judicael Perroy, Lorenzo Micheli, Matteo Mela, Sergio Assad, Jorge Caballero, Pavel Steidl, Marcin Dalla, and Marko Feri. He has won various local and provincial music festivals, and has performed at venues such as the the National Arts Center, the Shaw Centre, and the Rideau Club.
